Property for sale in West Mallorca

Property in the West coast of Mallorca means to be in one of the most beautiful areas of Majorca with majestic views to the sea, pine forests and orange groves, with glimpses of the sparkling sea never far away. A paradise for hikers and cyclists, visitors are drawn here year round. The west coast of Mallorca is the rainiest part of the island (despite still averaging over 300 days of sunshine), which accounts for the abundance of plants and flowers adding richness to the landscape. With a diversity of plant and animal species, the Serra de Tramuntana was designated a World Heritage Site in 2011.

West of Mallorca: property for sale in Soller, Deià, Valldemossa and Banyalbufar

Property buyers have long been seduced by Deia and Valldemossa, along with the towns of Soller and Port de Soller. Less well-known are the picturesque villages of Estellencs, Banyalbufar, Biniaraix and Fornalutx, though they too have their share of foreign property owners.

A long line of writers, composers, poets and painters have woven themselves into the history of the west, having been seduced by the area and settling here, buying a rustic finca or a townhouse. More recently, a score of actors, models and musicians have added themselves to the list, securing the region’s reputation as a haven of peace and tranquillity. In this area we can find some of the most luxurious properties for sale on the island, where families like Swarovski have also a frontline residence.

Situated approximately 7km from the coast in the southern foothills of the mountains is atmospheric Valldemossa, surrounded by hillsides terraced with vegetable gardens, vines and fruit orchards. A stroll through the smart, tree-lined, cobblestone streets reveals immaculately presented villas and delightful town houses. Property here, as in Deia, is much in demand.

Owning property in Deia, roughly 9km away, is likely to grant you some famous neighbours, but here extravagance comes from the ravishing natural surroundings rather than flashes of wealth. Property in Deia, as in most of the west, is beautifully understated. In the best renovations, luxury blends tastefully with tradition. For penthouses and apartments, look to coveted Port de Soller property offers.

Once a tiny, inaccessible fishing port, the Port has evolved into a luxury destination in part due to the Soller tunnel which has opened up the area to visitors. Testament to its sophisticated new face is the super luxury Jumeirah Port Soller Hotel, which opened in 2012.

Surpassing holiday destination status however, plenty of international residents choose to base themselves in Soller and Port de Soller year-round. Solidly, steadfastly beautiful, the west conquers a great many who visit. Thankfully, the generations of Mallorcans who live here and centuries-worth of tradition have remained unspoilt by international interest. Indeed, foreign property buyers receive a warm welcome in the west coast of Mallorca.

At Mallorca Property we have a large selection of properties for sale in this area.
